In an inspiring story of resilience, 24-year-old Cameron Butcher has stunned friends and family by winning a major triathlon event just six months after getting a heart transplant. Butcher, alongside Bonnie Sutton and good friend Will Jamieson, won the mixed relay section of the 2025 Peoplecare Triathlon in Wollongong last month. Sutton completed the 1500m swim leg in 24 minutes, Butcher then biked the 37.9km in 01:34:09 and Jamieson ran 10km in 45:15 to finish in a time of 02:20:54.
